  • 3 month temp contract opportunity with a possible view to extend to 30th June 2026

About the Role

Our client is a well known WA State government organisation. They are currently seeking a Project Officer - Financial Reporting to come in and join their Fremantle team on a 3 month temp contract with a possible view to extend to 30th June 2026.

Candidates for this position must have the following:

  • 1-2 years Power BI experience
  • Project Management experience with relevant certifications
  • Financial Acumen with critical reasoning and strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong report writing skills

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Data Analysis / Intelligence Gathering: Examine financial reports to find key trends and explain the differences between planned and actual costs.
  • Supports coordination and delivery: Help prepare and run project meetings by ensuring all financial information is ready and distributed to attendees.
  • Develop reporting tools: Create and update simple templates and dashboards (like in Excel or a reporting system) for consistent financial tracking.
  • Accurate reporting: Produce reliable monthly financial reports that clearly show the project's financial status and future needs.
  • Process improvement: Look for ways to make financial reporting tasks faster and less prone to error, and suggest changes.
  • Administrative tasks: Organize and file all project financial documents (budgets, invoices, approvals) for easy access and audits.

About You

You will be a proven Project Officer in Financial reporting with proven experience and reliability in previous positions.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Power BI 1-2 years (necessary)
  • Project management experience and relevant certifications (desirable)
  • Financial acumen (necessary)
  • Report writing experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Critical reasoning and problem solving skills
